Tanker 1 Transferred to Millerstown During Newport House Fire

While firefighters worked at a residential structure fire in Newport's first-due area, Friendship Fire Company No. 1 moved Tanker 1 to the Millerstown Fire Department. As many units were committed to the ongoing event, the tanker was relocated to maintain fire protection and offer coverage. While firefighters are occupied at an active fire, such transfers are a standard component of mutual assistance operations, guaranteeing sufficient resources are available for other crises.
During prolonged events, fire authorities observed that relocating equipment helps distribute coverage throughout nearby neighborhoods. Until circumstances permitted the return of regular coverage, Tanker 1 stayed with the Millerstown Fire Department.
