Marshall Township, Pennsylvania — December 7 — A box alarm for a reported incident at 430 Ascent Drive was sent to the Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department's first-due area while Engine 185-2 and the duty chief were on their way to a containment detail. When Engine 185-2 arrived ahead of schedule, it set up operations and laid out lines while firefighters investigated. Inside an apartment on the third level, interior workers discovered a charred hot water tank. The assignment was restricted to the units on the scene as no fire extension beyond the appliance was found. Before resolving the issue, crews worked for almost 1.5 hours to make sure the location was secure, finish inspections, and repair equipment.
