The Speedwell Engine & Hose Fire Company was called in to help with a fourth-alarm fire in the city on the evening of December 13. While personnel attempted to contain the situation, speedwell units worked for several hours alongside several departments. Speedwell employees were evacuated from the area as soon as situations stabilized and tasks were finished. As responders worked through overhaul, equipment repair, and preparation activities, post-incident operations continued even if the immediate risks were diminished.
