Units from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS, and Pittsburgh Bureau of Police were sent to the 800 block of Woods Run Avenue just after one in the morning on December 30th in response to a two-alarm residential structure fire involving a two-and-a-half-story brick residence. In the end, all ten residents—six adults and four minors—were safe and accounted for. During initial efforts, firefighters saved a young adult and three children from a second-floor window. Police eventually found a 17-year-old boy with autism on Lecky Avenue without the need for medical transportation. A fire lieutenant's shoulder injury was assessed at a hospital.
