On December 7, 2023, the Central Islip Fire Department held elections for their 2023-2025 Chiefs office. Outgoing Chief of Department Michael Zaleski welcomed the 'Changing of the Guard' with the newly elected Chief of the Department Vincient Plotino, 1st Asst. Chief Joseph Vereline, 2nd Asst. Chief Kevin McAteer, Jr., and baby Chief, 3rd Asst. Arthur Ford.
