Firefighters Wyatt Manning, Ryan Tomich, and Nicholas Domingos were acknowledged by the Berkeley Heights Fire Department for earning their certification as Emergency Medical Technicians from the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy. Patient assessment, trauma treatment, hemorrhage control, fracture and spinal stabilization, respiratory problems, and emergency deliveries were all addressed in the 220-hour curriculum.

EMT certification enables firefighters to offer more comprehensive medical care in situations like auto accidents and medical crises. Members can do early patient evaluations, stabilize injuries, manage life-threatening situations, and start critical care before an ambulance arrives because to this training.
