Greenwich, N.Y. — October 10, 2026 — Firefighters from the Greenwich, Middle Falls, and Cossayuna departments combined efforts at Greenwich Central School for Fire Prevention Day 2026, delivering practical fire safety instruction to students.
The program featured a school assembly and a special visit from Smokey Bear. Students also engaged in hands-on safety exercises, such as learning how to operate a fire extinguisher and spotting and avoiding fire risks inside the house. The fire safety bus offered another venue for students to explore fire safety topics.
