Warsaw, N.Y. — October 25 —  Trunk or Treat with First Responders returned to Warsaw Village Park for its fifth year, joined by emergency crews, local businesses, community groups, and families, hosted by the Warsaw Fire Department & Rescue Squad.

The gathering featured decorated cars, Halloween outfits, sweets, and community events for a family-friendly afternoon of outreach. Organizers reported the biggest crowd ever, with families and community members joining the celebration.

Local businesses and organizations assisted EMS and fire staff in organizing an event where residents could meet first responders in a non-emergency setting. The event also featured a decorated-vehicle competition, with awards presented in three categories. Taco Therapy received the Most Interactive award, Warsaw Fire Department Truck 9 was recognized as Most Spooky, and Oak Orchard Health earned Most Creative.

Organizers thanked the event’s “mysterious judges” for taking on the task of selecting the winning vehicles. Lisa and Barb from the Warsaw Village Office were also recognized for their assistance and support.

The event included a 50/50 raffle, with Lisa Allen named the winner. Allen donated her winnings back to the fire department, adding another contribution to the community support behind the event.

Kevin Carlson of the Warsaw Kiwanis shared photographs from the gathering, helping document the costumes, decorated vehicles and community participation.
