Batavia, N.Y. — October 21 — The Batavia Fire Department's Halloween gathering invited the public to enjoy seasonal activities and explore the fire service.
The event included candy, Halloween activities for children, and fire station tours. Firefighters got to meet locals and build bonds with the people they protect.
Community open houses are vital for fire prevention and public engagement. Such events help locals get to know their fire station while teaching children about the people and resources used in emergency response.
