Bayonne, N.J. — October 15 — Public safety groups and community partners united local families for a welcoming outreach event called Calming Sirens, helping residents bond with first responders in a sensory-friendly setting.

The City of Bayonne’s Office of Emergency Management and its public safety partners organized a gathering where families could connect with first responders, view response vehicles, and strengthen ties with community servants.

The event’s sensory-friendly approach enhances public safety outreach accessibility for individuals overwhelmed by sirens, loud noises, or unfamiliar emergency equipment. The Bayonne Police Department, Bayonne Fire Department, McCabe Ambulance, and other local and regional public safety partners form part of Bayonne's established Calming Sirens program.
