West Deptford, N.J. — October 9 — Firefighters from the West Deptford Fire Department extracted a kitten stuck in a storm drain near Lynn and Dubois after two days of trying several methods.
Crews safely removed the kitten from the drain and handed it over to Animal Control for care. The rescue concluded successfully after multiple attempts to reach the trapped animal.
The department acknowledged community members who provided details about the incident and expressed worry for the kitten as firefighters finished the rescue.
The department announced that a kitten could be adopted in the next couple of weeks. Whether it gets adopted will depend on arrangements made by the responsible animal control agency.
