West Deptford, N.J. — September 30 — West Deptford firefighters have been given new battery-powered Holmatro rescue equipment to better handle vehicle extrications and technical rescue situations.
The West Deptford Fire Department revealed the delivery, stating the equipment serves as an investment in firefighter safety and emergency response readiness. Cordless tools give crews more freedom to move by removing the need for outside power units and hoses, making it easier to place and use equipment without many setup limits.
Battery-powered rescue equipment may contain cutters, spreaders, combination units, or rams, based on the chosen package. The equipment assists qualified rescuers in accessing victims trapped in wrecked cars and performing additional specialized rescue duties. The department's announcement left out which specific tool models were in the new package.
The department expressed gratitude to elected officials and West Deptford Township administration for their ongoing support in supplying equipment for emergency operations.
