Greenwich, N.J. — October 15 — Greenwich Township Fire & Rescue participated in another year of fire prevention activities at Morris Goodwin School, continuing its commitment to community outreach and fire safety education.
The department expressed gratitude to the school and its teachers for their support, along with members from the Hopewell-Stow Creek Fire Department, Bridgeton EMS, and Bridgeton Fire Prevention, who joined in the event.
School-based fire prevention programs provided emergency services personnel with an opportunity to engage with students and teach them fundamental fire safety concepts.
These visits also allowed young people to learn about the roles firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and fire prevention staff play in their communities.
Fire safety education often included topics such as recognizing smoke alarms, understanding how to evacuate a building safely during a fire, and the importance of informing an adult if a fire hazard is noticed.
These regular discussions helped reinforce fire safety messages both at school and at home.
Greenwich Township Fire & Rescue operates as an all-volunteer organization, serving the community through fire and rescue services.
The department also maintains ties to local fire prevention efforts.
Bridgeton Fire Prevention provides services to several nearby municipalities, including Greenwich Township, Hopewell Township, and Stow Creek Township, through fire code enforcement and related safety initiatives.
The annual school event highlighted the value of collaboration between educators and emergency services agencies in promoting community fire safety.
