Downe Township, N.J. — October 19 — Members of the Downe Township Fire/Rescue and Dive Team participated in a multi-station training exercise. During the drill, they rotated through various stations that included familiarizing themselves with fire apparatus and equipment, practicing ground ladder operations, and reviewing personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Captain Everly, Lt. Costanzo, and Firefighter Leswing led the training session, allowing the crew to practice different skills at each station. The focus of the session was to help team members become more familiar with the tools and gear used during fireground operations and emergency responses.

The apparatus and equipment familiarization station helped team members review the tools available to them.

Ground ladder practice provided an opportunity to work on a critical aspect of fireground operations. The PPE and SCBA station allowed crews to review the equipment used to protect firefighters and ensure safe operations in hazardous environments.

The New Jersey Division of Fire Safety oversees fire service training through county and municipal fire academies and other training partners. Its programs support firefighter education and skill development throughout the state.

The department acknowledged the officers and firefighter who led the session and extended congratulations to all members who participated in the drill.
