Downe Township, N.J. — October 18 — The Downe Township Fire/Rescue and Dive Team celebrated Firefighter RJ Piernikoski on his birthday, acknowledging his four years of service and his ongoing progress in department training.

Piernikoski has been serving the community for four years and has continuously worked to improve his skills through various training programs within the department.

This year, he successfully completed dive school, which was a significant milestone in his development as a member of the dive team.

His upcoming goal is to be cleared to operate dive patterns in 2027. This process will equip him to take on more responsibilities during underwater search operations, in line with the department’s training and qualification standards.

Dive team members require specialized instruction and practice to perform safely during underwater search and recovery missions.

Training helps divers learn how to follow search plans, communicate effectively with their teammates, and adhere to established procedures.

Piernikoski’s advancement demonstrates the dedication and effort required to gain new skills in the fire and rescue service.

Completing dive school laid the groundwork for further training as he moves toward the next level of qualification.

The department’s birthday recognition also emphasized Piernikoski’s continued involvement with Station 39 and his commitment to the community.

His progress in training supports the team’s efforts to ensure that all members are well-prepared for their assigned roles.

The Downe Township Fire/Rescue and Dive Team extended birthday wishes to Piernikoski as he continues his service and works toward his next training objective.
