On October 3, the Wyandanch Fire Company held its open house with vehicle extrication and simulated structure fire demonstrations. Participating agencies included the Town of Babylon Hazmat Team, Suffolk County Police ESU, Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Fire Ambulance, Suffolk County FRES, and New York State Police.
The Farmingville Fire Department hosted its event on October 9, conducting demonstrations of rope rappelling, vehicle extrication, vehicle fire suppression, and a simulated structure fire.
On October 11, the Mastic Fire Department welcomed the public for apparatus displays and demonstrations involving vehicle extrication and a simulated structure fire.
All four events provided residents with an opportunity to meet local first responders, view emergency equipment, and learn more about fire prevention and emergency response operations.
