MANTUA TWP., N.J. — September 24 — Officials from Mantua Township Fire Department traveled to Holden, Louisiana, for the final inspection and to accept a new 2026 Kenworth water tender constructed by US Fire Apparatus.

Commissioner Jim Neely, Captain Dan Darnall and Chief Brian Hauss inspected the manufacturer’s facility while the department got ready to add the new apparatus to its fleet.

The tender is equipped with a 3,000-gallon water tank and a 1,500-gallon-per-minute (GPM) fire pump. That increases the pump’s rated capacity compared with the 500-GPM pump on the 2009 tender it is replacing, while retaining the same 3,000-gallon tank capacity, according to the department’s announcement.

The new equipment also gives you extra storage and additional compartments. These upgrades will enable the tender to transport more tools and equipment and function as a secondary apparatus, giving firefighters additional operational options beyond its standard water-supply duties.

Mantua Township received service from the outgoing tender for many years. The department announced that the new Kenworth will help keep its equipment modern and reliable for emergency responses.
