EAST GREENWICH TWP., N.J. — October 12 — East Greenwich Township Fire & Rescue has upgraded its thermal imaging cameras ( TICs), giving firefighters updated equipment to help locate victims and identify hidden hot spots during emergency operations.
In an October 12 update, the department stated that thermal imaging cameras assist firefighters by revealing heat patterns through smoke, pinpointing individuals, and identifying remaining hotspots.
The equipment upgrade received support from Colonial Pipeline and Zallie’s Community Foundation as a grant. The East Greenwich Township mayor and committee funded the department’s camera fleet upgrade.
