Winslow Township, N.J. — October 6 — The Winslow Township Fire Department visited South Jersey Christian Academy in Winslow Township as part of a fire prevention program that combined safety education with an introduction to firefighting equipment.

Firefighters met with students, discussed fire prevention, and reviewed some of the equipment used during emergency responses. The visit gave students an opportunity to learn about the fire service and understand how firefighters and their equipment help protect the community. The department thanked the school for hosting the visit and supporting its public education efforts.

Community outreach remains an important part of the department’s work. The Winslow Township Fire Department conducts fire prevention education throughout the year and participates in local events to help residents learn about fire safety. Its official history page also highlights community education and demonstrations as part of its prevention efforts.

School visits can help children learn practical steps to take during a fire emergency. The U.S. Fire Administration recommends teaching children to recognize smoke alarms, know two ways out of each room when possible, practice a home escape plan, and stay outside once they have evacuated. The visit supported the department’s ongoing effort to build fire safety awareness among younger members of the community.
