Westampton Township, N.J. — October 8 — Westampton Township Emergency Services invited community members to its yearly Fire Prevention Open House on October 8, providing residents with a chance to meet emergency personnel and gain more knowledge about fire safety.
The event took place at the department’s station located at 780 Woodlane Road in Westampton Township. The open house allowed families to tour the fire station, view emergency equipment up close, and learn about the duties performed by local fire and emergency services staff.
Community open houses were vital for public awareness, enabling residents to better understand fire risks and the actions they could take to keep their homes safe. Firefighters also had the chance to talk with visitors about emergency procedures and the significance of fire prevention efforts.
Westampton Township Emergency Services offered a variety of services, including fire suppression, emergency medical care, vehicle extrication, rescue operations, and hazardous materials response. The department also promoted public safety through its fire prevention programs, which aimed to help children, adults, and senior citizens identify potential dangers and adopt safer habits.
The department functioned as both a career and volunteer organization, serving Westampton Township and handling various emergency situations.
The annual open house allowed residents to interact with the individuals who are responsible for local emergency services, while emphasizing that fire safety is an ongoing concern, not just during Fire Prevention Week.
