Tabernacle, N.J. — October 10 — The Tabernacle Fire Department concluded its Fire Prevention Week events on October 10 after hosting families and children for community fire safety education. Throughout the week, residents had the chance to meet firefighters, tour fire vehicles, and gain insights into how to prevent fires at home.

Firefighters volunteered their time to support these activities and help visitors better understand the role they play in safeguarding the community. Public education is a crucial part of the fire service, enabling residents to take practical steps to prepare for emergencies before they happen.

The Tabernacle Fire Department is a volunteer-run municipal organization that has been serving the township since 1941.

According to the department's official website, it covers approximately 49 square miles in Burlington County and also provides assistance to nearby communities when necessary.

Maintaining fire safety continues to be essential even after the annual October campaign ends. Residents are encouraged to test smoke alarms, replace batteries or units as needed, and create a home escape plan that includes two exit routes from each room whenever possible. Families are also advised to select an outdoor meeting spot and practice the plan together.

The department offers fire and life safety resources to local residents, including information on smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

The week’s events emphasized the importance of community participation in fire prevention and allowed families to engage with the volunteers who protect the local area.

The department expressed gratitude for residents' ongoing support and urged everyone to prioritize fire safety throughout the year.
