Medford Lakes Fire Department Hosted Fire Prevention Open House

Medford Lakes, N.J. — October 6 — The Medford Lakes Fire Department organized a Fire Prevention Open House on October 6, allowing community members to interact with local firefighters and gain knowledge about fire safety.

The event was held at the fire department's station located at 10 Stokes Road in Medford Lakes, Burlington County. Open houses enable fire departments to connect with residents and provide valuable information on fire prevention and emergency preparedness.

The department is responsible for the Borough of Medford Lakes and surrounding areas. As noted on its official website, the department is identified as Station 371 and maintains fire equipment such as engines and a tanker to support its operational duties.

Fire prevention education is a crucial component of emergency services. Homeowners can enhance their safety by ensuring smoke alarms are working, installing carbon monoxide detectors, practicing escape plans, and keeping cooking areas free of fire hazards. These actions help families identify potential risks and react more effectively in an emergency.

The open house also allowed residents to gain a better understanding of the department’s responsibilities and the role firefighters play in safeguarding the community. Public events like these help people become more informed about local emergency services and the importance of fire prevention throughout the year.

This event highlighted the department’s commitment to public safety, community involvement, and ongoing fire prevention education.
