— October 3–4 — Volunteer fire company Truck Committee members inspected East Brunswick Independent Fire Company's new Truck 809 over the weekend, gathering details for Franklin Park's planned Truck 31.
The committee is managing the creation of the new ladder truck, slated to begin construction shortly. Members examined Truck 809 up close during the visit and spoke with East Brunswick firefighters about design, equipment, and decisions involved in their apparatus build.
Truck 809 is a Pierce Enforcer 100-foot midmount tower, as stated by the apparatus supplier’s delivery information. The truck resembles Franklin Park’s planned Truck 31 in many design aspects, giving the committee a chance to learn from that department’s experience.
