NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. — October 10 — The New Providence Volunteer Fire Department held its fourth annual open house on Saturday, allowing residents to learn about the unit's operations and the volunteers who provide round-the-clock fire and rescue services.
Visitors of all ages were welcome to a behind-the -scenes look at the fire department. Residents could meet firefighters and officers, learn about the department's work, and connect with the volunteers serving the borough.
The William Paca Club helped to prepare and serve food at the event. The club’s backing turned the open house into both a community event and a chance for public education and outreach.
