BYRAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. — October 14, 2026 — Byram Township Fire Department, Lakeland EMS, and Green Township Fire Department firefighters and EMS providers trained together in a joint vehicle extrication exercise. The session covered vehicle stabilization, patient care, and safe removal.
On October 14, personnel from three neighboring agencies participated in multiple simulated vehicle rescue scenarios. The training let crews practice technical rescue procedures and coordinate efforts during situations needing close fire and EMS cooperation.
The exercise involved members performing vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, and safe patient removal. These steps are crucial in motor vehicle incidents with trapped or injured occupants, as responders must set up a safe work zone and coordinate access to the patient before starting extrication.
