Burlington Township, N.J. — October 3 — The Burlington Township Fire Department invited families and community members to an open house event that focused on promoting fire safety, public awareness, and building stronger connections between residents and local firefighters.

This event offered attendees a chance to meet with department personnel, gain knowledge about fire safety, and better understand the important work firefighters do to safeguard the community. Department staff and firefighters dedicated their time to organizing the event, while local small businesses and community members generously contributed donations to help make the gathering successful.

The department also expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from its own personnel and community partners, which played a key role in making the event possible.

Community engagement remains a vital part of the department’s commitment to public safety. The Bureau of Fire Prevention offered educational resources and guidance to help residents recognize potential hazards and enhance safety in their homes.

October was also recognized as Fire Prevention Month, providing families with the opportunity to review their home safety plans. The National Fire Protection Association suggested testing smoke alarms monthly, ensuring they are installed on every level of the home and in sleeping areas, and practicing a home escape plan at least twice a year.

The department extended its gratitude to all those who attended, volunteered, donated, or supported the efforts to raise fire safety awareness and foster stronger community relationships.
