WESTFIELD, N.J. — September 30 — Westfield Fire Department members attended a fair about college, careers, the military, and gap years to discuss fire service opportunities with students.
The gathering included representatives from various organizations who assisted students in discovering their options following graduation. Westfield firefighters deliberated on training, duties, obstacles, and dedication within the firefighting and public safety field.
Students could explore firefighter roles, required skills, and career entry paths. The dialogues also offered an opportunity to talk about public service, collaboration, and preparing for a challenging career.
