REVERE, MA — September 28 — The Revere Fire Department celebrated a significant achievement on September 28 as five officers were promoted and four probationary firefighters took their oaths of office during a ceremony conducted by City Clerk Ashley Melnik.
Fire Chief James Cullen, Mayor Patrick Keefe, and State Representative Jeffrey Turco were among those speaking at the event. Family members then presented badges to the newly promoted officers and incoming firefighters.
Erin Leary and Leonard DiBartolomeo were promoted to the rank of captain, while Brian Ciampoli, William MacMillan, and Michael DiMartino were promoted to lieutenant. Erin Leary's promotion marked a historic moment for the department, as she became the first female captain in its history. Her appointment added to the leadership team and demonstrated the expanding opportunities available in the fire service.
Four probationary firefighters, Adam Misci, Domenic DiLiegro, Michael DiCato, and Ryan King, were also sworn in as they began their new roles with the department. The ceremony acknowledged the career progression, new responsibilities, and the presence of family members who attended the event.
Promotions within the fire service come with greater leadership roles, including overseeing crews, supporting training efforts, and contributing to the department's operational preparedness. The event highlighted the department's ongoing commitment to investing in its personnel and leadership as members prepare to serve the Revere community.
