Mendon, Mass. — October 16 — Firefighters from Mendon Fire Department just finished practical training on using metal-cutting saws and chainsaws for roof work on both residential and commercial buildings.
The training addressed various roof styles, such as pitched homes and flat businesses. Firefighters trained on equipment skills for roof ventilation during fires.
The department stated that training enhances firefighters' equipment management, collaboration, and safety. Consistent training helps teams learn their tools before they need them in a crisis.
