Burton was honored with the Rescue Member of the Year award in 1999 for his dedication and service. His work as an EMT showed his strong commitment to supporting the Belgrade community.

Even after he stopped active service, Burton regularly visited the station, often to see his son, Rescue Chief Travis Burton.
