Clarendon, VT — October 15 — Members of the Clarendon Fire Association went to Clarendon Elementary School to provide a fire prevention and safety education session for the students.

The firefighters used the Vermont Division of Fire Safety’s Fire Safety House as part of the educational visit. This mobile classroom was specifically designed to teach both children and adults about typical household fire dangers and proper ways to handle emergencies.

The Vermont Division of Fire Safety offered the Fire Safety House as part of its public education initiatives. The unit featured interactive learning stations that helped students grasp essential safety practices, such as creating escape routes, staying low in smoke, and knowing how to call the fire department.

These school visits allowed firefighters to share practical fire safety knowledge with young students and guide them in identifying safe actions they can take at home.

Fire prevention education continues to play a key role in reducing community risks. By partnering with schools, fire departments are able to introduce important safety messages early on and encourage students to talk about emergency preparedness with their families.

The Clarendon Fire Association expressed gratitude to the Vermont Division of Fire Safety for making the Fire Safety House available for the program. The visit contributed to ongoing efforts aimed at increasing fire safety awareness among local students.
