Fire, police and EMS crews were called to the Glenmont Walmart at 311 Route 9W for a report of a crash involving a car and a CDTA bus in the parking lot around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 6.
Crews arrived to find a very minor accident in the parking lot.
While the driver of the car was being evaluated by EMS, police officers kept the child that was in the backseat of the car feel safe while her mother was in the back of the ambulance.
Bethlehem Police Officers Brady Hughes and Roy Swann kept the five-year-old company and even let her take a seat in the front of the police car.
Encounters like this help bring a distraction to a stressful scene and strengthen relations with the community.
She also told Officers Hughes and Swann that she thought the police car was cooler than the firetruck!
Elsmere Fire and Delmar-Bethlehem EMS assisted on the scene of this call.
