Branford, Conn. — October 16 — The Branford Fire Department expressed gratitude to local businesses and community partners for their support of hands-on refresher training. This training helped firefighters from Branford and Guilford keep their specialized rope and trench rescue skills sharp.

Stony Creek Quarry let its crews use the site for rope technician refresher training earlier this year. A&W Sanitation in Guilford gave firefighters a place to dig trenches and practice their skills during trench technician refresher training.

These training opportunities provided firefighters with realistic environments to safely and effectively practice responding to complex emergencies.

The Branford Fire Department also acknowledged its enduring relationship with the Guilford Fire Department. Over the years, the departments have worked together to create and sustain technician rescue teams, boost their capabilities, and assist one another in larger incidents.
