Hyde Park, Vt. — October 14 — Renovation work at the Hyde Park Town Fire Department continued as the project advanced to give members better facilities for operations.

The renovation forms part of a wider initiative to upgrade the fire station’s facilities and more effectively address firefighter requirements. Planned upgrades feature better access, new bathroom and kitchen spaces, improved heating and ventilation, new windows, mini-split climate control, a new meeting room, and a utility room.

Town officials discussed the project during a March 2026 town meeting. The work was expected to be supported in part by approximately $100,000 from Vermont’s Municipal Energy Resilience Program, along with a $650,000 bond approved by voters. The improvements are intended to make the building more accessible and improve energy performance while updating spaces used by department members.
