This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

— October 11 — Elmore Fire Department firefighters participated in live-fire training hosted by Morrisville Fire Department in Morrisville, Vermont. Members gained practical exposure to live-fire drills and tanker shuttle procedures through collaboration with mutual-aid partners.

Firefighters can practice fire attack, crew coordination, and operational decision-making in a controlled environment through live-fire training. These exercises allow members to practice their training despite heat, smoke, and shifting conditions, all under qualified instructor guidance.

Crews also practiced tanker shuttle operations, an important water-supply method in areas where hydrants may not be available near an incident. Tankers move water between a fill site and the fireground, helping maintain a steady supply for firefighting operations. Effective shuttle operations depend on coordinated vehicle movement, safe positioning, communication and a well-organized water supply site.
