Richmond-Carolina Firefighters Practiced Ground Ladder Operations

Firefighters with the Richmond-Carolina Fire District took part in ground ladder training on September 17, focusing on skills used during roof access, chimney operations, ventilation and search-and-rescue assignments.

During the session, Firefighter Becca Smith demonstrated carrying a roof ladder while climbing a 24-foot extension ladder to prepare for roof operations. The exercise gave members an opportunity to review ladder handling, placement and safe movement while working at height.
