Rockport, Mass. — October 1 — Members of the Rockport Police and Fire departments met with Boston MedFlight personnel for a joint training session focused on standard operating procedures, helicopter landing zones and coordination during emergency medical responses.
The session gave local responders an opportunity to review how ground crews and air medical personnel work together when a patient requires transport by helicopter. Topics included landing zone selection, scene preparation, communication and safety procedures around aircraft.
Boston MedFlight provides critical care transport services and offers training opportunities for fire departments and EMS agencies. Its first-responder resources include landing zone safety information and guidance for coordinating with flight crews.
