Coventry Firefighters Celebrate Fire Prevention Week with Local Families

Coventry, Conn. — October 10, 2026 —  Firefighters from the Town of Coventry Fire EMS visited Booth & Dimock Memorial Library to celebrate the end of Fire Prevention Week with local children and their families.

The event gave young visitors an opportunity to meet firefighters, learn about their work and see what firefighters wear when responding to emergencies. One firefighter demonstrated how to put on full protective gear, helping children become more familiar with the equipment used on emergency calls.

The visit wrapped up a week focused on fire safety education and community outreach. Fire Prevention Week ran from October 4 through 10 in 2026, with the National Fire Protection Association promoting the theme “Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” which highlights safe charging practices for devices powered by lithium-ion batteries.
