Another Milestone for FF Phommavongsay

PORTLAND, Maine — September 27, 2026 — The Portland Fire Department's Training Division congratulated Firefighter Jesse Phommavongsay on successfully completing his field training with the Medical Crisis Unit ( MEDCU). 

Phommavongsay joined the department in April 2026 as a member of Fire Academy Class 26-40. Following the completion of his field training, he is assigned to the Pool on Platoon 1. 

MEDCU is the Portland Fire Department's emergency medical service unit, providing medical response to residents and visitors in the city. Field training gives firefighters the opportunity to apply their classroom instruction and practical skills while preparing for operational responsibilities.
