On Thursday afternoon, firefighters from Proctorsville and multiple mutual aid departments took part in a live-fire training exercise organized by the Weathersfield Fire Department.
As part of the training, crews practiced interior firefighting operations inside a structure, which was later intentionally burned down.
The session allowed firefighters to train under realistic conditionsexposed to smoke and heatwhile honing the skills required for structure fires. Live-fire training enables crews to build their capacity to function inside burning structures, collaborate with fellow firefighters, and practice fireground techniques within a controlled, training-based setting.
