Hanover, N.H. — October 7, 2026 — The Hanover Fire Department carried out water rescue training in collaboration with Marine 1 and its dive team, concentrating on finding a simulated victim and performing an underwater recovery.
During the exercise, Marine 1 used live scanning equipment to search the water for the victim. Once the target was located, members of the dive team entered the water and practiced reaching and removing the victim.
The exercise allowed personnel to practice coordinating surface operations with underwater search and recovery work. These operations require communication between boat crews and divers, along with careful use of equipment and attention to diver safety.
