At 86, Oneco Firefighter Phil Young Climbs to the Statue of Liberty’s Crown

At 86 years old, Oneco Fire Department member Phil Young completed a climb to the crown of the Statue of Liberty during the department’s annual September 11 trip to New York City. 

According to the department’s post, Young climbed the staircase as part of the visit, drawing praise from fellow members for his determination and accomplishment. 

The annual trip provides an opportunity to remember the September 11 attacks and honor the emergency personnel and others who lost their lives. Young’s climb added a memorable moment to the department’s visit.
