Wagontown, PA — October 8 — Members of the Wagontown Fire Company went to Kings Highway Elementary School to teach students about fire safety. During their visit, the firefighters had the chance to talk to the students about how to stay safe in case of a fire and why it's important to prevent fires from happening in the first place. This educational experience introduced young learners to fundamental safety knowledge and explained the vital role firefighters play in keeping their communities safe.
By sharing fire safety information in a school setting, children were able to learn about potential dangers and the importance of following safety rules.
It also allowed students to gain knowledge directly from local fire service professionals, making the learning experience more personal and engaging.
For the emergency service workers, this community education effort offered another way to contribute to public safety beyond emergency response.
Partnering with schools enabled them to deliver important fire safety messages in a setting where students are already comfortable learning.
The visit on October 8 demonstrated the benefits of connecting fire departments with local schools to spread safety awareness.
Through this outreach initiative, members of the Wagontown Fire Company successfully raised fire safety awareness among the students at Kings Highway Elementary School.
