West Henrietta, NY — September 17 — The Henrietta Fire District welcomed four firefighters from Seoul, South Korea, who came to the United States for training and to observe local emergency crews performing vehicle extrication exercises.

During their visit, the firefighters watched as local responders carried out vehicle rescue scenarios and engaged in discussions about the similarities and differences between their departments and the equipment used in their respective countries.

Vehicle extrication training helps emergency responders prepare for situations where people are trapped inside damaged vehicles after a crash.

These operations involve assessing hazards, stabilizing the vehicle, selecting appropriate tools, and creating a safe path for patient removal. Effective teamwork and clear communication are essential throughout the process.

The exchange allowed the visiting firefighters to observe local rescue procedures while also sharing information about emergency response practices in South Korea.

Comparing equipment and operational methods can help responders better understand different approaches to common rescue challenges.

The Henrietta Fire District operates a training campus that includes a vehicle extrication training area at the Francis G.

Byrne Training Center located on Erie Station Road. This facility supports hands-on training for firefighters who are preparing for emergency incidents.

The district is located at 850 Bailey Road in West Henrietta and provides fire, rescue, and first-response emergency medical services across its response area.

The visit offered an opportunity for professional development and international cooperation among firefighters who share a common focus on rescue operations and the safety of emergency responders.
