Spring Valley, N.Y. — October 5, 2026 — Three members of Hillcrest Fire Company No. I have been named the 2026 Rockland County Firefighters of the Year after rescuing a woman from a burning home in April.

On Friday, October 2, during the 114th Annual Convention of the Rockland County Volunteer Firefighters Association, Assistant Chief Matthew Boney, Lieutenant Jeffrey Potischman, and Firefighter Anderson Cisneros were presented with the award.

The recognition celebrates their actions during a structure fire on April 6 at 106 Williams Avenue in Spring Valley, located in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo.
