Commodore, Pa. — September 25, 2026 — On Friday afternoon, emergency personnel responded to a medical incident on Hazelet Road, where ground responders managed patient care before handing over the individual to an air medical unit.

The Commodore Volunteer Fire Department’s Quick Response Service ( QRS) and the Citizens’ Ambulance Service were sent to the scene. Once the patient was assessed and care began, the crews concluded that air medical transport was necessary to transfer the patient to a higher level of care.

The fire department was then called in to set up and secure a landing zone at a nearby site. Fire and EMS staff coordinated the move to LifeFlight, which then transported the patient to a receiving hospital.

Once the aircraft took off, QRS and fire crews cleared the scene.
