Laporte Volunteer Fire Company Paid Tribute to 9/11 Victims

Laporte, PA — September 11 — Laporte Volunteer Fire Company honored the victims and emergency responders who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The attacks resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives, including 343 members of the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY).
Firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians, and other rescue workers rushed to the scene to help civilians and rescue those trapped in the World Trade Center.Their actions became a significant part of the history of emergency services.
The department’s emblem, “343 — 9-11-01,” displayed on its vehicles, served as a daily reminder of the firefighters who gave their lives during the attacks.
It also honored the sacrifice of other first responders and the families and communities of the innocent victims who continued to live with the pain of their loss.
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum honored those who were killed and recognized the bravery of those who risked their lives to save others.
The events of that day also influenced the way emergency response training, preparedness, and collaboration among public safety agencies are carried out today.
For the members of Laporte Volunteer Fire Company, this remembrance symbolized the ongoing duty shared by firefighters and emergency personnel to safeguard their communities and help those in need.
The names, service, and sacrifice of those who lost their lives remain a permanent part of the nation’s history. 343 FDNY firefighters and all who made the ultimate sacrifice — never forget.
