Beaver Falls, PA - Firefighters from the City of Beaver Falls Fire Department were summoned to a delicate technical rescue assignment on Sunday, deploying an aerial platform to retrieve a cat stranded for over a day in a tree surrounded by live electrical utility lines.
On October 4, 2026, Beaver Falls emergency crews were called to the 1500 block of 16th Avenue in the Pleasantview neighborhood of Beaver County after a resident's cat, named Sadie, became stuck high in branches closely threaded with overhead power lines. By the time emergency assistance was requested, the pet had been marooned aloft for more than 24 hours.
Recognizing the escalating risk of electrocution or injury, officers determined that an aerial intervention was necessary to bring the animal down safely. Beaver Falls Fire Department dispatched Tower 11 to the scene. Operating the aerial apparatus with precision to maintain clearance from the neighboring wires, personnel maneuvered the bucket into the upper branches directly adjacent to Sadie’s perch.
