Nearly 3,000 Flags Fill Stanford Memorial for September 11

— September 11, 2026 — On Friday evening in Stanford, firefighters, police officers, veterans, honor guards, and local residents came together for a regional ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. 


The Stanford Fire District hosted the ceremony, which attracted a sizable crowd from the public. Members of the West Clinton Fire District attended following an invitation from Stanford, while others also joined a separate memorial event held in nearby Hyde Park. 


The event gathered emergency responders and honor guards from Stanford, East Clinton, Amenia, Pine Plains-Wassaic, the Town of North East, and Millerton, as well as members of the New York State Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. A bagpipe band also took part.
