Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. — September 15, 2026 — During a recent community education event at Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue Company 4, eighteen local residents finished free CPR and AED training.

Participants received training in CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants via the Health & Safety Institute ( HSI). The fire company reported that all 18 participants successfully finished the course and received their certifications.

HSI's CPR AED program is created to develop both knowledge and practical skills for handling cardiac emergencies. The program features performance evaluations, and those who succeed may earn a two-year valid certification. Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue said the strong turnout was a positive result for the community and thanked everyone who attended, practiced the skills and completed the certification.
